I never thought i would ever be saying this.....I am now 40 years old! yikes. Having some trouble with it. i never thought i would...afterall it is only a number, right? oh well, i don't think i look 40 and for the most part don't feel 40, or atleast what i thought 4o would feel like......
okay enough of my rambling .....
christmas is almost here which means christmas concerts....4 in total........the school divides up and of course they are on 2 different nights plus the daytime shows...yikes! plus Matthew is the MC for them so he is there for all four.
so cute....him and miss Jordan are co hosting. cute since they have known each other since they were 3yrs old at preschool and matthew had a wee crush and perhaps it was mutual...regardless now they pretend not to know each other unless forced.....i tried to talk them into matching sweater vests but no dice.
i did opt out for tonights show, darren went solo...i have a headache and really couldn't stand to go again....bad parent perhaps but my sanity is worth it!!

must start thinking about christmas......................

things
so as the year progresses it would appear that time is becoming more of an issue. we are here there and everywhere on a regular basis but the schedule is now somewhat together. one thing i have added is the gym....mondays while taryn is in dance another mom and myself go to a circut class at this wee little gym a block away. it kicks my ass- even more demoralizing is the fact that we are by far the youngest participants! we also have a personal trainer on Thursdays who also kicks ass.....i have been by myself since Chris was in Vegas and OH MY!
perhaps i will lose a few....
soccer is time consuming and becoming more frustrating as the girls have started to not listen....hello people get your kids in line, i am not a babysitting service! we had a bye this weekend and they were shocked that i decided to take the day off...sorry i do have a son who plays lacrosse on sundays and would like to see him play on occasion...

the faker
I am home today when i should be running a million errands and the cause....a faker....matthew woke up this morning complaining that he didn't feel good...his tummy hurt etc. i knew right then and there he was faking but when pushed to go to school the meltdown ensued.......fast forward....the faker is caught....i pretended to leave to go vote but stood by the stairs...out he came down the stairs skipping and humming only to find ME...hahahahahahaha caught. I am way smarter that a 5th grader!
hope everyone had good turkey!

I really do suck at this whole blogging thing....today I am home sick with the cold I have been fighting off for 2 weeks but alas yesterday it caught me.....
I see other families all organized and happy and then i see us in a constant state of kaos. I have made the schedules, the meal plans, the chore lists and they work for a bit but then something always arrives to mix it all up.
On the 17th Darren and I are heading up to Whistler for the weekend. Darren is going to the BCMLA general meeting and i have decided to tag along for a mini vacation. I have to thank my mom for this because she is going to have to deal with the kids and their crazy schedule. It will be nice to not have to go anywhere and do anyhting if I don't want to...perhaps I will visit a spa or even just lay in bed all day and doze while Darren is at his meetings.......
okay the neo-citron is setting in and i believe i am going to go lie down now...take care

rain rain go away
nothing like a week of crappy weather and rain to drive a family mental!! I even worked the first 3 days of this week at the clinic so i wasn't even around for much of the kaos....apparently my children behaved with whomever they were sluffed off on however when i appear their wee little heads spin around and they become evil little things........
i work tonight and then don't work again till wednesday so it should be a nice break... not really too much else to report, summer is almost over (4 weeks) and we really haven't done a whole lot.....

oooops!
oooops! It would appear that I have really neglected this sad little blog.....then again I am not sure anyone even reads it so...oh well.
some happenings:
some happenings:
- I am now working Mondays at the obstetrical clinic...it is meant so that now i don't need to pick up any extra night shifts---how much do i hate nights!!
- summer vacation is here...well it was I should say. I went back to work yesterday so it would appear that it is over. We really didn't do too much....matthew had a tournament up in Kamloops so we went there and then last week we made the trek to Orville(osooyoos) to camp and then up to Kelowna to see uncle phil and aunt olga.
- we are hopefully going to buy a new coach
- have decided to do the one room at a time thing.....figured we would start small so the first room is the entry hall....the base board has been bought but is still sitting in the living room or as i like to refer to it the locker room.
how sad is that......i really don't have a whole lot to report, oh well.

WTF??!!
snow? snow? seriously...it is the end of march almost april. It is NOT supposed to snow in March. I am at a loss for words....so annoyed with the weather I went and bought tanning minutes.
Having some issues with planning summer vacation also.....what to do?? Thought about camping down to disneyland...flying to disneyworld and then out of nowhere though Hawaii......this will take some more thought....any imput would be greatly appreciated....
off to work tonight then soccer appreciation/beer night tomorrow night.
thinking of doing a bootcamp-just have some concerns about running on my ankle......
enough babble...off to load the dishwasher

tootin' my own horn
so this past weekend we had the mini tournament, 28 teams u5-u8 from 9am to 3pm soccer, soccer and soccer. it was fabulous. we got so many compliments from parents, coaches etc. many from teams outside of our club. Funniest one ever said congrats to our "team" hmmmmm that would be team of 2...tammy & myself......for running the most organized tournament he had been to....warms the cockles of my heart it does...
okay so enough about soccer.....it is almost over. both kids are in a tournametn this weekend and then we are DONE.....atleast till tryouts.......
the weather here today rocks....beautiful sunshine....i was once again a coffee whore and took tammy some since she is trapped at home with sick boy alex......
now i am going to clean my kitchen and then tidy upstairs.........
have a great day!

what's new
what's new around here...???? well not a whole lot. Soccer is winding down with a tournament this weekend and another next...this weekend is mine and Tammy's so i have been super busy. Our living room right now is packed with goodie bags, i am not exaggerating, you can't even walk through the room. "bitch alert" I have issues with people not stepping up. we have a total of 28 teams in this tournament and so far the parents have been asked for nothing...no money...no time...nothing. For the tournament to run we have asked each team to supply 2 volunteers to fill one tiny little half hour shift....do you think people are stepping up?? nope...seriously 30 minutes and not even when your kid is playing so they won't miss a thing. i made the schdedule so their shift was the 30 minutes before or the 30 minutes after...some coaches have had to say they will do it which makes me so mad. don't they already do enough with coaching?! okay end of bitch alert!
other than that....soccer ending .....lacrosse and field hockey starting.....

what's up
what's up........soccer has been snowed out for what seems like forever......it has been 3 weeks without a game and the kids are driving me bananas. yes it is nice to sleep in a wee bit and not have to go out in the cold and rain however the kids need to run.
Some coaches seem to think i have control over the snow melting....ummmm nope.....perhaps i should get my heat gun out and start melting it......
why do people seriously need to ask if the game is cancelled??? 3 ft of snow on the field people.......
okay enough of my bitchiness.............our food/dinner experiment is still going strong. we did have sushi last week but other than that we have eaten at home....clarification...dinner has been eaten at home. i have been out to lunch with suzie and my mom..how can you turn down lunch with mom---she pays.
hoping to get my bedroom organized this week....too many clothes that don't fit or are past their prime.......
that's it for now

snowpants required...
yesterday it snowed here...snowed and snowed and snowed...weird becasue apparently it didn't snow in vancouver..oh well. Really doesn't make that much of a difference in my one car life but for those that need to drive it sucks.
this morning we had the ususal fight...wear boots and put your snowpants on.....taryn no problem, matthew problem--he is far too cool....suck it up buttercup and put them on.
it is supposed to snow more today.......
we have survived the entire month without eating out except for thursday when we didn't get home till 6:15 and i had to leave for work at 6:45 so mCd's it was....oh well. i still think we have done well.
i am becoming quite the martha....i have made homemade mac & cheese, homemade tomato soup, homemade doubledipped buttermilk chicken strips with homade blue dressing dip, homemade pizza, a yummy sheppards pie make with turkey instead of hamburger-tastes a bit like chicken pot pie/soup, today it is a chicken caccitorre soup....i have done other stuff but can't remember now what the heck it was..............................i am freaking people out but honestly i must admit it is kind of fun to find different recipes ..................I think i am going to start baking soon.......
the only tthing i really want is sushi....i miss my sushi....oh well, maybe as a treat in february....
hope everyone is enjoying 2008 so far...ttyl

and we are off........
so my big plans for being organized, healthier etc for this year are a bit in a shamble already. January 9th and already screwed...how sad is that?
I did make a meal plan for the week and so far we have stuck to it, we even have all the groceries for the meals so i shouldn't have to go out and get them....this leads to random food in my house.
Sunday night i worked adn then began what turned out to be a nightmare ride home....1 hour and 10 minutes it took me....all the hills to my house were backed up...and to make matters worse i had to pee! Luckily because i didn't get home till 8:50 darren decided to work from home...good thing because when i got up at 2 Taryn was home.....apparently the poor girl starting puking at school. I say good thing darren was home because i turn the ringers off so wouldn't of heard the phone.....she is a very good puker-doesn't freak out and when she is done rinses her bowl and mouth out. I had to work again Monday night and was not looking forward to spending my sleep day await with a pukey kid.....luckily darren was feeling not so hot so he worked from home again.
Today we are back to normal.....i still have mom's car though but she should be getting it back today so then we become the one car family...i see a whole lot of walking in my future.
i have started the painting of the trim...the entry way needs one more coat...when you see the white you really notice how dingy it looked before.

2008
2008 who would of thought this would be here so quickly? I think this year I really need to get off my fat ass and start focusing on some things. First I need to figure out what the heck i am doing with this house, not just the physical house but how we live. I have decided to start back up with the weekly meal plans and stick to them, along with this i am hoping to set up some sort of cleaning/organizing schedule ......hopefully this will make me a happier person. i also need to get my ass in gear and start loosing this fat which seems to have piled on in the last year or two..ugh. Off to try to figure out how to acomplish these goals and get started..........wish me luck.
